Salary: £30,000 to £40,000

Overall Responsibility:

The position of Quality Engineer is a link role between various Company Departments including Project Management, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Design and the Customer. The position is very much a "hands on" role, it is the responsibility of the Quality Engineer to ensure that the Customer specifications and requirements are fully adhered to and any non conformances raised are quickly and effectively actioned.

Essential Experience

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the nuclear, defence, offshore heavy engineering sector.
2. Competent in common software such as Microsoft office and preferably experience with MRP environments.
3. Accustomed to a risk based approach to quality and familiar with the new ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Essential Duties:

1. Fully liaise with the Customers to determine any critical part features.
2. Provide support to the Company Engineering and Purchasing section for the consistent application of Quality Techniques, tolerances, material related issues.
3. Effectively communicate and reinforce DavyMarkham Limited commitment to Quality Improvement efforts.
4. Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis investigations and successful corrective actions.
5. Raise effective Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans to facilitate Customer requirements.
6. Continually review the Company Quality Management System and recommend effective changes where required.
7. Attend Contract launch meetings and provide meaningful input to assist the running of the Contracts
8. Perform duties in accordance with all Quality System requirements.

9. Co-ordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing and any other relevant Company departments to resolve customer complaints/concerns.
10. Recommend enhancements to the Company Quality Management System that result in the improvement of Company Quality performance, increased customer satisfaction and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs.
11. Ensure that DavyMarkham Limited is in readiness for all internal and external Quality Audits.
12. Carry out internal audits in accordance with the Company audit schedule.
13. Carry out analysis and produce reports on non-conformance issues within the Company in a timely manner.
14. Act as the "voice of the customer" and demand the highest quality expectations from all departments within the Company.
15. Attend customer sites/premises where required and represent the Company in a fully professional manner at all times.
16. Carry out a review where requested of the customer specifications and Quality requirements to ensure that DavyMarkham Limited have the necessary capabilities and qualifications to carry out the Contract.
