Controller of Site Safety (COSS)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller of Site Safety to join our clients team on an ad-hoc basis. As the Controller of Site Safety, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety protocols and procedures are followed at our construction sites.

Qualifications:

– Proven experience as a Controller of Site Safety or similar role in the construction industry.

– In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

– Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential safety hazards.
  • Implement safety measures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Provide safety training to site personnel and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with site managers, contractors, and workers to promote a culture of safety.
  • Monitor and enforce site safety policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to develop safety plans and initiatives.

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently working with a social housing provider in Manchester, who are looking for a Multi Skilled Plumber to work for them. There is scope for the role to become permanent. A van and fuel card is provided, with prohibited personal use.

Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Plumber includes:

  • Completing reactive plumbing work on void and tenanted social housing properties
  • Carrying out secondary work where required surrounding patch plastering, tiling and basic joinery
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining van stock
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintaining a clean and working environment within customers’ homes#

Essential criteria of the Multi Skilled Plumber includes:

  • Full UK Driving License

Multi Skilled Joiner

Hamilton Woods Associates are currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Joiner to carry out repairs and maintenance on a temporary – permanent basis in Manchester.

This role requires working one in two Saturday’s and a rota shift pattern of 8am – 4pm and 11am – 7pm.

Responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Joiner:

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on domestic properties
  • Carry out first and second fix joinery
  • Undertake basic plumbing
  • Complete plastering and tiling

Essential Experience of the Multi Skilled Joiner:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in relevant qualification

Maintenance Surveyor

We are currently working on behalf of a social housing provider to recruit for a Maintenance Surveyor on an initial temporary basis.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Surveyor:

  • Providing an efficient inspection and surveying service to the companies housing stock and related assets, including those surrounding damp and mould
  • Conducting ongoing repairs and maintenance surveys and progress reports, and updating information as required
  • Providing guidance, technical support, and direction when appropriate
  • Undertaking pre and post inspections
  • Maintaining in depth knowledge of relevant legislation including UK building regulations
  • Producing project design, tender and contract documentation

Requirements of the Maintenance Surveyor:

  • Previous experience conducting maintenance surveys
  • Social housing experience is desirable

Drainage Gangs

We are seeking hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our Drainage Gangs on an ad-hoc basis across various railway locations in the UK. As a Drainage Gang Member, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of drainage systems along the railways.

Responsibilities:

– Clearing and cleaning drainage systems to ensure proper functionality

– Assisting in the repair and replacement of drainage components

– Working effectively as part of a team to achieve project goals

– Following safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment

– Reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors promptly

Requirements:

– Previous experience in drainage maintenance or related field preferred

– Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

– Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects

– Strong teamwork and communication skills
