Job Title: Despatch Operative

Location: Kanes Food, Evesham WR11 8JS

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shift, 6:00-18:00, 2-week rotation
Week 1: 3 days work, 4 days off
Week 2: 4 days work, 3 days off

We operate with two rotating shifts (Red & Blue), allowing for flexibility in choosing your workdays. The red shift is from Sunday to Wednesday or Thursday, while the blue shift covers Wednesday or Thursday to Saturday.
Breaks: 2x20min and 1×30 min

Pay Rate:
£14.14 per hour – Basic
£21.21 per hour – Overtime
Weekly Pay, Overtime Available

Contract Type: Temp to Perm – Permanent contract after a 12-week successful probationary period.

About The Role:

As a Despatch Operative at Kanes Food, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of products from our production lines to our customers. Reporting directly to the Logistics Shift Manager, you will be an integral part of the logistics team, contributing to the smooth and timely dispatch of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support:
– Support the Logistics Shift Manager in delivering the operational goals and objectives for the shift.
– Maintain quality of service and SKU/finished product integrity.

Product Handling:
– Ensure the efficient and accurate handover/receipt of finished products from the Production Team.
– Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient picking of finished products to match customers’ needs and deadlines.
– Ensure timely, accurate, and efficient loading of finished products to meet customers’ needs and deadlines.

Documentation:
– Ensure timely and accurate provision of documentation related to dispatched products.
– Ensure all products meet specifications, including recording of temperature.
– Report all non-conforming products to the shift manager.

Technology Utilization:
– Use information technology effectively in support of the above tasks when required.Knowledge, Competence, Experience, and Qualifications Required:

Requirements:

Warehouse experience: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification: Forklift/Powered Truck licence (required)

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer at Kanes Foods, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food production facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Your expertise will encompass mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, allowing you to tackle a wide range of challenges in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver a successful engineering maintenance shift, with respect to OEE, via effective fault diagnosis and repair and Maintenance activities, all performed to the relevant practices and procedures which ensure the health and safety of the engineering team, the food safety of our products, and cost efficiency via engineering talent

Mechanical:

  • Ability to diagnose faults in a safe, controlled and effective manner
  • Conduct breakdown repairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure equipment issues are resolved
  • Must be competent to conduct root cause analysis
  • Must be able to record findings and breakdowns and issues and communicate these to enable an improved solution
  • To identify areas of poor equipment performance, and working with the Lead Technician implement improvements in a controlled an measurable fashion
  • Must be competent to conduct Preventative Maintenance activities to a very high standard, and be able to record and relay findings and identify methods of improvement.

Electrical:

  • Must be able to electrically fault find to a safe, methodical and timely manner
  • Can conduct electrical machinery audits
  • To monitor and ensure that manufacturing equipment does not pose any electrical risks to personal
  • To identify areas of poor equipment performance, and working with the Lead Technician implement improvements in a controlled an measurable fashion

Hygiene & Food Safety:

  • To ensure, in conjunction with Technical Management, that all interventions provide for safe food production.
  • To have an understanding of and implement HACCP principles.

  • To ensure all company policies and procedures are being adhered to in the department.
  • Must work to food safe standards when conducting repairs/maintenance within the food manufacturing environment

Health & Safety

  • To ensure, in conjunction with H&S, that all work is delivered in a safe, managed, and lawful manner and is compliant with all relevant legislation.
  • Must follow and ensure lock off/tag off procedures are adhered to.
  • To promote a safe working environment by enforcing safe task procedures within self and others
  • To ensure H&S rules and regulations are followed at all times.
  • To make on going inspections of the workplace and take immediate steps to correct unsafe and unsatisfactory conditions or procedures. Any such conditions or procedures need to be reported to the Lead Technician
  • To fully comply with site standards for use of PPE and also monitor and support others in maintaining a safe approach via effective PPE usage.
  • To play an active part in risk assessments

Communication

  • To actively co-operate and communicate with all company departments in the best interests of the business.
  • To liaise with Production, Hygiene and Technical teams to discuss and communicate issues and actions.
  • To communicate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers in engineering matters as required for the successful completion of duties, disseminate information to Engineering, Production and Technical colleagues as necessary.
  • To contribute to effective shift handovers by ensuring that all relevant and important information and details are relayed accordingly.

Admin

  • To undertake project work as directed by the Lead Technician and ensure that the project is completed and the outcome is reported back to the lead technician.
  • To ensure that paperwork is correct and up to date
  • To read and respond to e-mails in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate must be highly methodical and organised in approach to preventative maintenance
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent approach to fault finding

Job Overview:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of financial transactions within the company. We are looking for individuals who are ready for permanent employment and willing to work full-time. The successful candidate will be responsible for invoice processing, query resolution, payment runs, reconciliation, and month-end activities related to the purchase ledger. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Financial Controller/Finance Director on various tasks, including system improvements, compliance, and audit support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing:
    Accurately process supplier invoices and credit notes into the database and ERP system, ensuring alignment with purchase orders.
  • Query Resolution:
    Handle purchase invoice/credit note queries in accordance with company processes. Escalate delays over 5 days to the Financial Controller/Finance Director.
  • Payment Run:
    Cover for the purchase ledger payment run.
  • Reconciliation:
    Conduct statement reconciliations on the top 20 suppliers monthly. Reconcile all suppliers at least once every 3 months.
  • Month-End Activities:
    Input all documents by the last Friday of the current period.
  • Perform month-end close for the purchase ledger, reconciling the balance sheet.
  • Communication:
    Respond to emails within 24 hours of receipt.
    Communicate with suppliers regarding payment dates within the finance process.
  • Systems and Processes:
    Work with the FC/FD on any new ERP/systems in the business.
    Review processes for ongoing improvement in the finance department.
  • Compliance:
    Ensure all work meets audit standards.
    Adhere to all company processes and procedures.
  • Audit Support:
    Collaborate with the FC/FD to ensure a smooth audit meeting all set timescales.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform any other related duties/roles as assigned, within your scope of practice, as deemed appropriate by the Company.
