Wills Assistant/ Administrator

Major Recruitment Oldbury are delighted to be recruiting for an elite law form who are seeking a Wills Assistant/ Administrator to work at their Shirley head office.

Due to occasional travel to other local sites of the firm a driving licence is essential- please only apply for this role if you have a full UK driving licence.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Taking Will instructions preparing/typing Wills and getting them signed by client – at all times handling client matters efficiently and profitably and maintaining client goodwill
  • In the course of taking instructions, identifying any needs of the client for specialist advice and referring to supervisor as appropriate
  • Be responsible for Wills administration and the implementation of a suitable system.
  • Dealing with clients both on the telephone and in person in a confidential manner
  • To assist in the marketing and development of the department and practice
  • Rendering advice in accordance with training given, conducting the matter in the proper manner and progressing the matter to completion
  • Ensure that the client and the supervising fee-earner receive reports upon progress at regular intervals
  • To assist and liaise with partners and other fee earners and, where relevant, to work effectively with team members of the department, ensuring an effective working relationship

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

Duties and tasks will include:

  • Managing a high volume caseload of residential property sales.
  • You will need to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, 3rd parties, customers and colleagues by phone and in writing, within tight deadlines.

  • Be a Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer who has between 2 – 3 Years PQE and has experience of managing your own caseload of conveyancing transactions from instruction to post completion

POLISH SPEAKING IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE FLUENT IN WRITTEN & SPOKEN POLISH.

Please note this role is fully office based in Shirley and is not a hybrid or WFH role

Duties and tasks will include:

  • You will be responsible for assisting the busy Property department with day-to-day administrative tasks, maintaining communication with the clients and mortgage brokers,
  • attending networking events,
  • preparing initial documents involved in the conveyancing process,
  • monitoring deadlines and updating the calendar,
  • submitting cases to the Land Registry.
  • You will also be answering calls, email and postal correspondence
  • This will be a fast paced and varied role where you will spend your time on the telephone updating the clients, brokers and estate agents.
  • You will learn the conveyancing process from A to Z.

Candidates wilcome to apply for the role will have the following:

  • Passionate about people and the Residential Property sector
  • Have the ability to speak and write or translate in Polish and English is desirable to be successful in this role.
