We are currently working on behalf of a social housing provider in Manchester, to recruit for a Damp and Mould Surveyor on a temporary to permanent basis.

Duties of the Damp and Mould Surveyor:

  • Undertake surveys, prepare schedules of condition, schedules of work, tender documentation and ensure specifications are kept up to date
  • Oversee the right response to damp and mould cases based on severity
  • Assist in the design, procurement and management of contracts and contractors in delivering works within the damp and mould workstreams
  • Manage day to day workload
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations
  • Review payment applications
  • Monitor performance of contractors

Requirements of the Damp and Mould Surveyor:

  • Strong knowledge around the cause of damp and mould
  • HNC qualification or equivalent
  • Driving licence

The role will require working across Monday – Friday 9am-5pm at their site in Heckmondwike and Huddersfield.

The successful postholder will be responsible for the supervision of a team of 9, comprised of Support Co-ordinators and Night Support Workers.

Responsibilities of the Hostel Team Leader:

  • Delivering a high-quality support service to young people aged 16-25 years living within a hostel based setting
  • Supervising a team of 9 staff members
  • Ensuring staff rotas are updated and covered in times of absence
  • Maintaining and monitoring policies and procedures within the team
  • Supporting colleagues within the team through training and coaching
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with external working partners

Essential Criteria of the Hostel Team Leader:

  • UK Driving License and access to own vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience managing complex rotas
  • Experience working within a hostel or refuge based setting
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Team Leader position

Hamilton Woods are working exclusively with an established business based in Solihull seeking an experienced VAT & Regulatory Reporting Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing VAT return submissions, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting for multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage VAT return submissions and reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns (monthly, quarterly, bi-monthly, and annual) while ensuring no late or mis-filing penalties
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations for VAT and Tax, preparing relevant journals to clear reconciling items
  • Oversee intrastat reporting, EC Sales, and other statutory/regulatory filings
  • Act as a key point of contact between the business, tax team, and local authorities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tax teams, external auditors, and tax advisors
  • Support the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and compliance initiatives as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant tax or accounting qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Practical VAT experience in advisory, tax authority, or industry roles
