Antenna Design Engineer

Based near Hereford you will work within a specialist team designing new antenna’s to customer specifications, refining existing designs and looking at ways to develop new antenna products to grow the company’s offering

You will work with Engineers across a variety of disciplines throughout the full Design lifecycle and assist Sales, Commercial and Production departments to develop concepts, proposals, and solutions to meet customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* This role encompasses the following responsibilities:
* Work individually or in teams alongside mechanical and electronic engineers to develop new antenna designs.
* Develop designs using 3D EM simulation software CST Microwave Studio.
* Assist with assembly and testing of prototype designs.
* Communicate with project managers, sales, procurement, commercial and production departments to ensure workflow remains on schedule.
* Participate in and lead design reviews and manage engineering change notes through the product development process in line with ISO 9001 procedures
* Create and maintain project and design documentation.
* Provide management information on design developments for reporting purposes as required.

KEY COMPENTENCIES

To be successful in the role you will need to have a Degree or Masters in a relevant discipline (Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications etc) and be able to demonstrate the following skills and personal qualities: –

* Proven track record in Antenna design
* Experience of using CST Microwave Studio (or similar)
* Familiarity with antenna radiation pattern measurements (near-field or far-field)
* Experience of using VNA’s or similar antenna measurement equipment
* Ability to work autonomously on tasks and as part of larger interdisciplinary teams.
* Curious – inquisitive and open minded, seeks out evolving and innovative ways to add value.
* Collaborative – able to work effectively and inclusively with a range of people.

Electronics Engineer

An Electronics Engineer with experience of systems design, test & calibration is sought by a growing engineering company in South Tyneside

You will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and electromechanical systems, including down to PCB component level, coaching and mentoring of other team members, safe, correct, and efficient preventive and routine maintenance of equipment and machinery and the calibration of electronic equipment.

You will also correctly disassemble, inspect, repair, clean, replace and re-assemble equipment and systems, carry out Electromechanical system testing and commissioning, design electrical/ electronic systems for upgrades, overcoming component obsolescence and integrating with third party equipment and systems and liaise with customer about works and suggested (any) remedial actions.

We’re looking for an experienced, practical, hands-on Electrical and Electronic Engineer who enjoys diagnosing and fault finding down to component level (PCBs), then using their skills and experience to repair or recommend the next steps. The role will involve a level of mentoring and coaching to other team members. Some travel and site visits expected. You will be able to work to tight deadlines and have good time management awareness along with a HND/degree qualification. A good attitude and attention to detail is essential. Ongoing training, certification and support is assured.

You will also need the following skills: –

  • Ability to read, interpret and act on electrical/electronic diagrams and schematics
  • Ability to interrogate and interpret electronic systems with no drawings or documents (old systems, customer existing systems)
  • Low voltage circuitry knowledge – PCB and wired systems
  • Control system logic knowledge
  • Digital and analogue electronic fundamentals

Full UK driving licence and clear DBS (or ability to pass a DBS check) is required

This role would ideally suit an experienced electronics technician who enjoys travelling and variety in their work, as each day provides its own challenges.
