We are currently looking to recruit on behalf of our client based in Rotherham (S60) for a Technical Finishing Operative.
Salary: £25,600 (An extra 25% shift allowance on afternoon shift)
Shift Pattern:
Monday – Thursday 6am -2pm / 2pm – 10pm
Friday 5am -1pm / 1pm – 9pm. – rotating
*A night shift will be coming but not for 6 months*
Role Duties:
- Upgrading castings in both Non-Ferrous and Ferrous alloys, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
- Working with precision to achieve tight tolerances and strictly adhering to quality procedures.
- Removing ceramic mould material from castings.
- Utilising hand tools such as grinders, burrs, and abrasive belts to eliminate metal running, feeding, and gating systems.
- Preparing castings for the welding process to ensure readiness.
- Dressing castings to meet drawing tolerance and profile specifications.
- Proficiently using measurement tools such as verniers, calliper’s, micrometers, and depth gauges.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as necessary, beyond those listed above.
- Proven experience as a Finishing Operative or in a similar role within the casting industry.
Bonus Scheme
All staff members will get a bonus 25% of profit paid 3 months in arrears, paid every month.
Holidays 22 days per year, plus 1 additional day for each year of service up to 5 years, plus bank holidays.
